Connecting SAP Business One (SAP B1) to Dokka involves configuring the necessary settings and permissions. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you establish the connection:


1. Ensure you have a SAP B1 user account with administrative privileges (manager role).

2. Have access to the company's database name.

3. Access to the SAP Control Center.

4. Identify the server URL (IP address) where SAP B1 is hosted.

5. Make sure the Dokka application is accessible.


Step 1: SAP B1 Configuration


- Log in to SAP B1 using the manager user credentials 

*Please save the  SAP B1 username and password




Step 2: Identify the Company Database


- Navigate to Administration > Choose Company\ loge in screen > change company.

- Find and make note of the company's database name. Each company has its own database. [usuely the db will appear in the second row]




Step 3: Obtain the Server URL


- Access the SAP Control Center either as an administrator or system manager.

- Navigate to Services > Service Layer.

- Copy the server URL, which is usually the IP address of the server.

- If the IP address is not visible, you can find it by visiting a website like whatismyipaddress.com.



Step 4: Configure Dokka


- Open the Dokka application> create a new company >

settings> intergations > SAP B1>


Enter the data from above in the necessary fields

1. SAP username - the MANAGER SAP username[STEP 1]

2. SAP password- the password of the SAP MANAGER [STEP 1]

3. Company DB name - Each company has a unique database in SAP. [STEP 2]

4. SAP server url- the SERVER LAYER [STEP 3]

Create an Excel with the company DB name and company name

 


press "upload" > sign in



Step 5: Resolve Common Errors


If you encounter any errors during the setup, consider the following:


1. Remove the "certify SSL Certification" > SIGN IN again


2. DNS Server Not Recognized:

   - You can check if the DNS server is recognized globally using a service like dnschecker.org.


3. IP Address Blocking:

   - Ensure that the necessary IP addresses are not blocked. You may need to allow access to specific IP addresses or ranges.

3. Non-manager User:

   - Verify that the SAP B1 user being used for the connection has administrative privileges.
